How to get rid of ants in the bathroom

Ants in the bathroom are chasing one thing above all: water. A damp floor, a leaky trap under the sink or condensation around the tub gives them the moisture they need. Tiny gaps around pipes and tile give them the way in. Fix the moisture, close the gaps and treat the trail. Then they lose their reason to be there.

Why ants come to the bathroom

Unlike the kitchen, the draw here is usually water rather than food. Ants follow plumbing lines and enter through the gaps where pipes pass through the wall or floor, then trail toward the wettest spots. That is why simply wiping them away does nothing. The moisture and the entry point are still there. (More on the how and why: Holes in your home are attracting these insects and How to get rid of ants in the house.)

The non-toxic fix

Six Feet Under kills the trailing ants on contact with plant-based active ingredients and wiping the surface afterward erases the scent path. Puff Dust to Dust with the Insect Buster into the gaps around pipes, baseboards and under the vanity where they enter. For a lasting perimeter, prepare Barricade according to label directions and treat.

Dry them out and shut them out

  • Kill the moisture: fix leaks, run the fan and wipe standing water around the sink and tub.
  • Spray the trail: hit active ants with Six Feet Under and wipe to break the scent.
  • Seal the gaps: puff Dust to Dust into cracks around pipes and along baseboards.
  • Reapply after cleaning: refresh Dust to Dust once surfaces are dry.
