How do I use the Insect Buster Bulb Duster ?

The Insect Buster Bulb Duster comes in a ready-to-assemble kit.

The kit includes:

For optimal application, insert the steel ball into the bulb, along with the powder. This acts to break up any clumps that form.

The two applicator tubes are designed to help reach the varying crevices that are all around your home, ensuring you can get even the most difficult-to-reach spots. Use interchangeably, depending on which one works best for the different spaces in your home.

When you're ready to use the Insect Buster Bulb Duster, use the funnel to add the insect powder of your choice. We recommend our Dust to Dust for an all-natural approach. Do not fill more than three-quarters full.

The best way to use the Duster is like using a can of spray paint: shake, aim and spray. When you shake the bulb, the steel ball inside helps to break up any clumps, so that the subsequent spray, or squeeze of the bulb, releases a puff of powder in the direction you're aiming in.

What do I do if my powder keeps clogging up?

Unfortunately, insect powders are usually quite fine, and contain oily compounds. This means that they are very prone to clogging.

For optimal use of our Insect Buster Bulb Duster, and to avoid clogging, make sure to do the following:

Do not fill the Duster more than three-quarters full.
Ensure the powder and Bulb Duster are completely dry.
Check that the steel ball is inserted.
Use like a can of spray paint: shake, aim and spray.

Can I replace the Insect Buster parts?

Yes! Sometimes with the wear and tear of repeated use, you might find that you need to replace one or more parts of your Insect Buster Bulb Duster. Not to fear! You can replace any of the Duster parts.

How do insect powders work?

Insect powders, such as Dr. Killigan's Dust to Dust, will rid your home of insects including fleas, ants, cockroaches and bedbugs by dehydrating insects rather than killing them with insecticidal toxins.

Because of this, it takes time for the dehydration process to take effect. Insect powders are typically not "kill on contact" solutions. They are, however, still very effective. We recommend allowing up to 48 hours for the powders to take effect.

Insect powders can cause lung irritation if inhaled, so please use a mask when dispensing the powder.

How do I use the bulb duster against roaches and ants?

To repel ants and cockroaches, you'll want to do some prep work. Follow these steps for the best chance of success.

Clear out the space along your walls, behind appliances and inside cupboards and drawers. Identify where any points of entry might be, and any obvious food sources. Take advantage of this time to clean out and seal up any food sources, so that the pests don't have any reason to come back.
Once you've cleaned your space, add Dr. Killigan's Dust to Dust powder to the Insect Buster Bulb Duster. Using the "spray can method" (shake and spray), apply a thin line along the walls, backs of cupboards and along floor boards, creating a kind of barrier all around the room that you're aiming to protect.
Shake frequently to avoid clogging.
Replace all appliances and your drawer/cupboard contents, and enjoy your pest-free space!
