Powered by soybean oil, Doom & Bloom kills plant pests on contact by breaking down the waxy outer layer of their exoskeletons. This mechanical mode of action causes dehydration and disrupts respiration, delivering effective results without harsh chemicals, sticky residue, or lingering odors. Because it works mechanically, pests are unlikely to develop resistance over time.

Designed for both indoor and outdoor plants, Doom & Bloom targets common plant pests including aphids, spider mites, thrips, soil gnats, broad mites, russet mites, and two-spotted mites. It is most effective on small-bodied insects and can be used as part of a regular treatment plan to interrupt pest life cycles.

This FIFRA 25(b) minimum-risk formula is biodegradable, low odor, and safe to use around people and pets when used as directed. It dissipates quickly and leaves no toxic residue behind, making it a thoughtful choice for homes, gardens, and plant lovers who care about what they use and who’s around it.

Is this plant spray safe for all types of plants?

Yes, it’s safe for most indoor and outdoor plants. However, we recommend testing on a small area first, especially for delicate or sensitive plants before full application.

Does this spray prevent pests, or does it only treat existing problems?

It’s primarily designed to treat existing pest issues, but regular use can help deter future infestations by creating an inhospitable environment for pests.

Is the spray effective against powdery mildew or other plant diseases?

While not a fungicide, it may create a slight barrier effect that can help reduce the spread of powdery mildew by limiting moisture buildup on leaves. However, for active fungal infections, it’s recommended to use a product specifically designed to treat plant diseases.

Will this spray harm beneficial insects like bees and ladybugs?

Doom & Bloom is designed to target soft-bodied pests, not beneficial insects. To best protect bees, avoid spraying them directly. We recommend spraying plants early in the morning or late in the evening when bees are less active.

How does the product work?

Soybean oil is often used as a pesticide to dehydrate insects and other pests. This occurs through emulsification of the outer waxy layer of their exoskeletons. Soybean oil also creates a physical barrier to respiration in the insects by clogging the spiracles, or breathing pores, along the sides of their adult (and larvae) abdomens. In blocking these air holes (spiracles), death occurs through asphyxiation. Similarly, when applied in our formula, it inhibits oxygen uptake in egg masses and decreases hatching success. In addition, soybean oil quickly dissipates through evaporation and leaves no toxic residue. This makes our product less disruptive to beneficial insect populations than traditional insecticides.
